Daily Recap: Tuesday, December 18th

Girls Basketball:

Teaneck 57, Pascack Valley 33

Girls basketball was faced with a tough test on Tuesday night as they had to play a very talented Teaneck squad.

At first, the Indians were playing right along with the one of the top teams in the County. They trailed 11-9 after the first quarter.

Trailing 26-14 at halftime, Pascack Valley had to be somewhat pleased with their performance.

Unfortunately, Teaneck exploded in the second half and ended up taking the game 57-33.

This is a game that should be rather easy for the Indians to forget as they prepare for Tenafly on Thursday afternoon at the Valley.

Record: 1-1

Next Game: Thursday, December 20th at 4 PM against Tenafly (Home)

Boys Basketball:

Teaneck 79, Pascack Valley 67

Pascack Valley was dealt with playing the best team in Bergen County and never backed down.

The first half was a back and forth affair that ended with Teaneck only leading 35-31.

However, the beginning of the third quarter was a different story as Teaneck turned up the defense. They opened the quarter with a 10-0 run to take a 14 point lead. At that point, many thought the Indians were finished.

That thought was proved untrue as Pascack Valley went on a 9-0 run to end the quarter. They faced a 5 point deficit heading into the final period of play.

In the end, Teaneck's offense was too much for Pascack Valley to handle and the #1 team in North Jersey was able to pull away.

Kyle Onderdonk scored 19 points and Ryan Onderdonk added 15 for an Indians squad that should be very pleased with their performance.

***Full game story will be on the blog tomorrow***
