Weekend Recap: 12/21 - 12/23

With Boys and Girls Basketball playing on Thursday, the slate for the weekend was pretty light. Lets see how hockey and wrestling did in their respective matches.
_________

Wrestling:

In their quad meet on Saturday, Pascack Valley wrestling represented their school well. In three matches, they went 2-1. They defeated Wayne Hills and Lakeland and lost to Hawthorne.

Dylan Bader had the best day for the Indians with three pins. Cory Gottlieb, Alex Moore, Cameron McLearie, Danny White and Zach Lanzalotto all finished the day 3-0.

The Indians have a long layoff with their next match coming a couple of days after the New Year.

Record: 2-2

Next Match: Friday, January 4th at 7 PM against Indian Hills (Away)
_______

Hockey:

Pascack Valley 2, Old Tappan 1 (Friday)

After starting the season 1-2, this was a big win for the Indians against a talented Old Tappan squad.

Neither team scored in the first period, but each team had their chances. It wasn't until the second period when Sam Komrower scored for Pascack Valley, putting them ahead 1-0.

However, that lead would not hold. Old Tappan responded minutes later and tied the game at 1.

The tie was broken with 5:05 left in the game by guess who? Sam Komrower. The Senior scored both goals for the Indians and basically willed his team to victory.

This could be the start of something good for Valley as they head into the New Year.

Pascack Valley 2, Tenafly 0 (Sunday)

Two days after their win over Old Tappan, Valley was back on the Ice Sunday Night against Tenafly.

Sam Komrower continued his stellar play by scoring late in the second period to give the Indians a 1-0 lead.

Late in the third, Devon Palmieri sealed the win with a goal of his own.

With a 2-0 win, PV has won back to back games.

Record: 3-2

Next Game: Saturday, December 29th at 7:20 PM against Lenape Valley Regional (Away)
