Daily Recap: Monday, September 24th

After a weekend of success by all varsity sports, Monday brought more of the same. The birthday boy pitched a shutout for Boys Soccer, a freshman scored for girls soccer, and Girls Volleyball moved to 6-1 in league play.

Girls Volleyball:

Pascack Valley defeats Indian Hills 25-21, 25-19.

Girls Volleyball rolled to their 6th win in league play after defeating Indian Hills in straight sets.

The game never seemed to be in doubt, as Pascack Valley dominated from the beginning.

Although the win was a team effort, one player stood out among the rest. Jessi Levine had a great overall game, blocking number shots and showing great defensive passing skills.

With Levine playing at a high level and the underclassmen continuing to improve, this is going to be a tough team to beat.

Record: 6-1

Next Game: Thursday, September 27th at 4:15 PM against Paramus Catholic (Home)

Girls Tennis:

The Indians had a rough day on the tennis courts, losing four out of their five varsity matches.

Luckily for the girls, there are plenty or more opportunities to come.

Next Match: Thursday, September 27th at 4:15 PM against Paramus Catholic (Home)

Boys Soccer:

Pascack Valley 2, Indian Hills 0

The boys were under the lights once again, this time against Indian Hills.

The night belonged to Senior Goalie Blake Ruzich, who celebrated his 17th birthday Monday. After receiving his licence in the morning, Ruzich capped off an amazing birthday with a 2-0 shut out against Indian Hills.

Senior Kieran Walsh and Sophomore Dante Cassano scored for the Indians and the defense was solid once again in the win.

Record: 4-1

Next Game: Thursday, September 27th at 4:15 PM against Paramus Catholic (Away)

Girls Soccer:

Pascack Valley 5, Indian Hills 0

The Indian offense came alive Monday afternoon, scoring 5 goals in a 5-0 rout of Indians Hills.

Amelia Della Pesca led Pascack Valley by scoring two goals. Dara Liebeskind and Michelle Orden each added a goal as well.

The last goal came from a surprising source, a freshman named Maya Stanislawski. After being one of only a handful of freshman to make varsity, Stanislawski is starting to make an impact for Pascack Valley.

This is the second straight win for the Indians and there is no reason why the streak will not continue.

Record: 3-2-1

Next Game: Thursday, September 27th at 7 PM against Paramus Catholic (Home)
